Key information

Volunteering with the Canal and River Trust is a rewarding, social experience that enables you to connect with nature and like-minded people to make a real difference to the local area.

Our volunteers carry out a range of tasks and activities either on the canal, around the grounds of Standedge Tunnel or in our nature reserve. There is a wide range of teams that you can be part of to help keep the Huddersfield Narrow Canal open and alive.

No experience is necessary as all training is provided (along with biscuits!).

Come and join us to maintain and preserve this piece of heritage.

Please note that wheelchair access is role dependent.
