Marsden is a large village in the Colne Valley, in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, and the South Pennines. It is close to the Peak District, which lies to the south.

11.7km south-west of Huddersfield, it is located near the settlements of Slaithwaite (4.3km) and Meltham (5.8km).

Manchester Road (A62) intersects the village and connects Marsden with Oldham (17.9km), Leeds (39.8km) and Manchester (30.7km).
