Key information
St Bartholomew’s Church stands at the heart of Marsden and is affectionately known as the ‘Cathedral of the Colne Valley’.
Built in 1899, this striking Victorian church features beautiful stonework and an impressive tower added in 1911.
More than a historic building, it is a warm and welcoming hub for village life, hosting services, celebrations and community events throughout the year.
Everyone is welcome to join the friendly congregation for Sunday worship at 9:15 am, a relaxed and inclusive service. As of 6th August 2026, the congregation will also be delighted to welcome their new vicar, Reverend Graeme Blackwell, as incumbent of Marsden, Slaithwaite and East Scammonden.
Surrounded by the stunning Pennine hills, St Bartholomew’s remains a cherished place of faith, friendship and belonging.
