Standedge Visitor Centre, Waters Road, Marsden, HD7 6NQ

Owners: Alastair and Jenny Hanson

Key information

A beautifully renovated 18th century trans-shipment warehouse set by a canal (which actually comes into the building via a drydock!) by the mouth of the Standedge Tunnel.

The site - featuring café and grounds with playpark, outdoor stage, sensory garden and picnic tables - is open to the public 7 days a week.

The building is available for exclusive hire for weddings or parties, and hosts concerts, workshops and more, with seating available for up to 260 people. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor and a lift to all four floors.

A not-for-profit, family-run community interest company, Standedge also houses Hanson Musical instrument manufacturers (the first FSC certified clarinet makers in the country) and acoustic instrument repair shop.
