Thieving Magpie Border Morris

Where based: They meet at Marsden Parochial Hall, Clough Lea, HD7 6DN

Lead contacts: Helen Armitage and Angela Boycott-Garnett

Key information

Border Morris dancing involves using sticks to clash together and with the ground – ideally not with people though. We also yell while dancing.

As with all dancing, it is social, good exercise and great fun. We meet weekly throughout the year to practice.

We often dance at events in Marsden, particularly Cuckoo Day and the Christmas Lights switch-on. We also dance at folk festivals, days of dance, and other events both locally and further afield, often with other Morris sides.

We welcome all, from complete beginners to experienced dancers.

For more information, phone or email us.
